Pretzels
Ingredients:
2 cups four
1 scant TB yeast
1 cup lukewarm water
2 TB vegetable oil
dash of salt
Instructions:
Place water in a bowl, add a teaspoon of sugar to help yeast rise. Sprinkle yeast over the sugar water. Let sit for 5-10 minutes to grow. Mix dry ingredients in larger bowl. Make a well in the center. Pour oil and yeasty mixture into the well. Stir together and knead well. Set the dough aside in a warmish place to rise for one hour. Cover with a cloth. Take risen dough and on a floured surface, take a handful of the dough and roll into a snake. Twist into a pretzel shape and place on the greased baking sheet. Brush with a mixture of a little egg white and water, if desired for browning. Sprinkle with either: cinnamon/sugar, Parmesan cheese, or salt. Bake at 375° for 8-10 minutes and enjoy!
